现在国际旅游比以往任何时候都更加普遍.。有些人认为这是一个积极的趋势,而另一些则不。你认为呢?
The past 50 years have seen a considerable increase in global tourism. Despite the undeniable economic prosperity it has brought to many host countries, I would argue that the overall impact of international holidaymaking has in fact been negative. Two of the primary drawbacks associated with this trend are as follows.
First of all, global tourism tends to export many negative aspects of western culture. Since it is only the wealthy who can afford to travel abroad, developing countries like Thailand and Indonesia have become the playgrounds of tourists from more affluent ones. In many such nations, this influx of mainly western tourists has brought with it problems such as prostitution as well as alcoholism and drug abuse. Admittedly, international tourism does have the potential to foster greater understanding and tolerance between people of different cultures. However, this is unlikely to occur while it remains such a potent symbol of western cultural domination and moral decadence.
Even more disturbing, though, is the environmental degradation that international tourism has caused in many parts of the world. One particularly salient example of this is the Great Barrier Reef in Australia-the countless boats, drivers and snorkellers that have visited the reef over the past few decades have gradually destroyed vast sections of coral. Similarly, world renowned Kuta Beach in Bali has become heavily polluted in recent years. In order to be sustainable, greater regulation of global tourism is required.
In conclusion, the challenges presented by the booming international tourist industry are numerous and complex. Although they are by no means insurmountable, it is highly unlikely that they will be resolved in the foreseeable future.
2.International travel is becoming cheaper, and countries are opening their doors to more and more tourists. Do the advantages of increased tourism outweigh its disadvantages?
国际旅行越来越便宜,各国都向越来越多的游客敞开大门。旅游业的优势大于他的劣势吗?
Air travel combined with early retirement and people with money to spend has meant that more and more people can travel the world. Some countries, especially those with famous historical sights and beautiful natural scenery try to attract this large market. While there are some problems that can be caused with all this travel, generally it is a positive thing.
Firstly, consider that all these tourists mean money that governments are eager to tap into. For many countries, tourism is a big part of GDP and without it their economies would suffer. Foreign tourists bring important dollars to the service industry and lots of small shops and vendors.
Secondly, by encouraging tourism governments are promoting their cities and countries. In my country, China, for example, increased tourism and hosting the Olympics has changed people’s perception of our country. At the same time, tourism allows local people to gain exposure to people from other countries, which is also a good thing.
Of course it’s not always a perfect picture. Not all tourists have a good attitude and manners. And in some cases they may even have a negative influence on the local population. But these situations are not so common, and embassies can create tough guidelines for getting a visa. This seems like a reasonable compromise.
To conclude, international travel is a great thing, but it is a privilege that should not be abused. Governments should encourage it, but also put in place measures to keep dangerous people away. This will result in a win-win situation for everyone.
3.Some people think traveling abroad is necessary while others think that is not necessary because TV and the internet can give the same information. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
去其他地方学习其他文化是没有必要的。我们可以从书本、电影和互联网上学习。你在多大程度上同意或不同意?
When it comes to the issue about which approach should be recommended to people who are interested in other countries, some people may argue that traveling may be an optimal choice, but others believe that TV and the internet could be a substitution of traveling.
On one hand, there is a necessity of traveling to other countries because visitors could touch other cultures to a deeper degree. When a visitor comes to a country, s/he may make acquaintance with local residents and enjoy local food. For example, a visitor could really enjoy Sangria, a famous wine mixed with fruits, in Spain, but not just stare at a picture of Sangria on books and imagine its taste. Then, such experience enables a visitor to really know what a country is with more details.
On the other hand, TV and the Internet provide the public with an alternative way to learn a country. It is common that there exist a lot of forums on the Internet where a lot of visitors may share their unique experience of trips generously. Then, users could conveniently search for any information they need concerning about any specific country on such forums. Similarly, TV programs could provide viewers with information collected by editors that could also prove to be true and trustful under most conditions.
From my own perspective, these two approaches do not necessarily contradict each other, but just fit various groups of people. For visitors who have sufficient time, energy, and budgets, having a tour to some countries may be recommended to them since they could have a better understanding of alien cultures. However, for people who are occupied with their heavy work or have financial burden, traveling may not be accessible for them and thereby watching TV programs and scanning the Internet may be a better option for them.

健康类雅思写作范文:
1.均衡饮食是身体健康的关键
A balanced diet, or eating balanced meals, is thekey to a healthy life. To what extent do you agree ordisagree with this statement? Give reasons foryour answer.
Although a balanced diet is important, there areother factors which contribute to a healthy life.People in some cultures do not eat a balanced diet, but use limited food sources. In addition, lack ofstress could well be as important as diet.
One culture-related reason concerns environmental or climatic conditions. The Inuit, in theArctic Circle, live in harsh surroundings and their major source of food for many months of theyear is fish. Nutritionists in industrialized countries would not consider their diet balanced oreven healthy, yet Inuit people have flourished in food from the sea for centuries. Anothercultural reason is religion-based. Many Hindus are vegetarians because of their religion. Again, many dieticians claim that vegetarianism is unbalanced because humans need protein, especially from animals. Hindus, however, seem to be quite healthy, suffering no ill effects fromthe lack of animal protein.
The major reason for disagreeing with the balanced diet argument, however, is to do withstress. Even though people in the past did not always have a balanced diet, something existingonly on potatoes and bread, they lived healthy lives because there afflicts urban residentstoday. Secondly, there is a large percentage of contemporary people who do their jobs, thenrelax in front of the TV, and quite often eat junk food. But seem healthy enough. They may bespared disease by their relatively stress-free lives.
In conclusion, although it is undeniable that a balanced diet is of some importance tohealth, there are no doubt more factors that may get involved in affecting people’s health. Forexample, in terms of living environment, climate and stress in them.
2.如何促进公民的健康
The construction of new sports facilities are definitely needed in an environment wherepeople’s health is in a declining state. However, there are those who believe that the way toimproving people’s health should lie in other measures that governments have to come up withto get people to live more healthily.
In many countries around the world, sports facilities are diminishing at an alarming rate, with existing ones being threatened with closure or face redevelopment in favor of housing andcommercial development. The lack of sports facilities has directly led to a sharp decline in thegeneral public’s involvement in sports activities, which is the major culprit for ill health andexcessive weight nowadays. If a wider range of sports and fitness facilities (swimming pools, basketball court and gymnasiums etc.) were available, then people would be more willing tospend time in these facilities to train their bodies and to improve their fitness, instead of living asedentary life at home watching television, playing video games or using computers.
However, the building of such facilities may become a waste of time and taxpayers’ money ifthey are built far away from where people live or if they are too expensive to use. There arescenes of empty sports grounds in many cities because it takes too much trouble to get there, and many sports clubs are receiving fewer guests because they charge unreasonably highmembership fees. In these cases, the government should be spending more on advertisinghealthier life style instead of just wasting money on facilities that are not going to be activelyused by the people. For example, it is important for people to know that little things like joggingor taking the stairs provide as many benefits as using exercising equipment in a sports club.
All in all, the government should be spending more money on the campaigns of getting thepeople to be more involved in a healthier lifestyle instead of wasting taxpayers’ money onsports facilities that are barely used by the general public. This is by far the best way ofimproving the health standards of a nation as a whole.
